ABOUT MICHELLE
I haven’t always been into fitness in fact, I was overweight as a child and used to ask my mum to write me a note to get of doing PE. I have struggled with my weight most of my life and I yo-yo dieted for years going from one slimming club to the next and trying every diet going, even the egg diet.
Having spent years as a self-confessed ‘cardio bunny’, I shied away from lifting weights. I believed that to get the toned look I was after I had to do loads of cardio and eat next to nothing.... how wrong was I.
I soon became very skinny as I didn’t realise you had to build muscle first. This is when I decided to do some research and realised to get the look I wanted I had to do start weight training. I asked my brother to show me some exercises and I started to do them at home at in my bedroom as I didn’t have the confidence to go to the gym. Once I started seeing results my confidence grew and that is when I decided to join a gym.
When I started taking my training seriously, I became obsessed with heathy eating. I would take my meal prep food everywhere, wouldn’t eat out and would often cancel social events if it revolved around food so I could stick to my fitness plan. On the outside I looked healthy but I was far from healthy mentally as the healthy eating obsession took over my life.
I decided to educate myself on evidence-based nutrition to not only help myself but pass on this knowledge to my clients. This is why I am an advocate of flexible dieting and encourage clients to continue to have a social life as you can do both, something I wish I knew back then.
I opened the Lift Fitness Studio in 2022 so females can have a safe space to learn how to train in private, so they can gain the confidence to then train by themselves in a busy commercial gym.
ABOUT WALLIS
I have been with Lift Fitness as a client for over two years and have had amazing results from being coached by Michelle and now I work with Lift Fitness as a Coach.
Before being with Lift Fitness I had tried fad diets, followed incorrect advice from social media and tried slimming clubs and found nothing worked or I couldn’t commit.
I have been on a huge journey and have had fantastic physical results as well as a huge mental shift which has improved my relationship food…. What I am trying to say in a nutshell is I have been there!
My experience with having been on the journey you are starting plus a love for fitness gives me the ability to understand and support you and your goals.
I have practiced flexible dieting for over two years and am a huge advocate for this, I believe you shouldn’t have to be miserable and cut out the things that bring you happiness in life to be healthy and have a social life.
